Affiliate Disclosure
(Ad) — this website contains advertising in the form of affiliate links.
PetGene (furbabygene.com) is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What “affiliate link” means here
An affiliate link is a special tracking link. When you click one and then make a purchase, the retailer or brand pays us a small referral fee. This is a material connection, and we disclose it clearly. We label affiliate sections up front (an (Ad) marker) and repeat a plain-language note near the links themselves — not only in the footer — so the advertising is obvious at the moment you encounter it.
The programs we use
We participate in affiliate programs that may include the Amazon Associates program and networks such as Impact and ShareASale, through which brands including pet-DNA testing services offer commissions. Commission rates and cookie windows are set by each program and can change; where a specific figure is not officially confirmed, we treat it as pending verification.
How commissions are earned
We are paid on performance: a commission is triggered only when a qualifying purchase is completed within the program’s tracking window after you click our link. You never pay more because you used our link — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your wallet.
Our recommendations stay independent
Earning a commission does not influence which services we cover or how we rank them. We do not accept payment to change a conclusion, and we describe the limits of a test as candidly as its strengths. We also do not run Google AdSense or any display-advertising network on this site; affiliate links are our only monetization.
Prices, availability, and terms change
Prices, stock, shipping regions, and program terms are controlled by the retailers and can change at any time. Always confirm the current price and details on the retailer’s own page before you buy.
Legal basis for this disclosure
We provide this notice to meet the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides, which require affiliate relationships to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously and near the link. Because our English pages also reach readers in the UK, we follow the stricter ASA / CAP Code approach and label affiliate content as advertising up front, since a footer-only disclaimer is not sufficient under UK rules.
A note on health claims
No product we link to can diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure disease. Pet DNA tests provide genetic information, not a diagnosis. Always consult a licensed veterinarian before making decisions about your pet’s health. For more, see our Editorial Policy, and reach us any time through the contact form.
